Sharon Hamilton- Board Member
As a junior in high school, Sharon attended the Welch Summer Scholar program in residence at the University of Texas at Austin, and she was “hooked”! Sharon graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelors of Science in Architectural Engineering. Sharon has volunteered with various non-profits including Habitat for Humanity, Girl Start, and the American Society of Civil Engineers. Through her volunteer work, Sharon developed a passion for working with young children. She has managed over 20 large-scale Engineers Day events at the Thinkery, the Science Mill (Johnson City) and at various charter schools in Austin, introducing thousands of youngsters to the world of engineering through constructive play. Sharon also serves as a steering committee member for Central Texas Discover Engineering and has volunteered as a mentor for the Seedling Foundation for the last 7 years. Sharon became involved with ATX Kids Club when her daughter attended the inaugural after-school program of ATX Kids Club with Ms. Miller! Sharon’s daughter has attended after-school camp, spring break camp and summer camp with ATX Kids Club and loves every new adventure!
