Parent Testimonials from our end of camp survey
"This camp was amazing! My son loved attending every day. The staff were friendly, professional, and very organized. The field trips and activities at Branch Park were fantastic, and I really enjoyed hearing about his experiences each day when he got home. Overall, it was a wonderful experience — we’re already looking forward to next year!"
"Our kids have loved the spirit of independence they get at camp exploring and seeing so many local places and experiences off their normal life path. Riding Cap Metro has been one of their favorite parts of camp - experiencing their city in an authentic and urban way has left a positive impact and sense of pride."
"Daniel thoroughly enjoyed his time at camp. He felt safe the entire time and very engaged. He is a huge fan of Mr Ted!"
"Our child loves taking public transportation, and we take it together as a family more often. He enjoys being out on the town with a crew, instead of with his parents. He gets more comfortable with autonomy every time."
"When we travelled to Washington, DC this summer, I put Niko in charge of figuring out our travel on the Metro. He had zero anxiety about public transport and was up for the challenge (and spot on)! I don't think it would have gone as smoothly if this had been his first encounter with public transport."
"Our daughter loves exploring the city and pointing out places she has been with Atx kids. She is so curious about our city. She is confident and independent. The counselors are great and provide support."
"Our kiddo loved taking the bus. The camp counselors are super patient and compassionate. I really appreciate them."
"Kiki's sense of adventure has grown during her sessions with ATX Kids Club. She has made summer memories to last a lifetime."
"Seth certainly has more confidence with different groups after ATK Kids and enjoys independently knowing things about the city from Mom, Dad, and older brother. Well done!"
"Julian had a blast! He loves riding the bus and exploring the different places they visited around Austin. A big thank you to his counselors for facilitating a great week!"
"Arlo is so proud of his experience navigating the city on public transportation and visiting so many city sights! He loves being active and actually comes home tired from a day of trekking around, which is fantastic. ATX Kids Club feeds both his mind, which is endlessly curious, and his body! Your instructors/counselors are always kind and welcoming, and seem to take an interest in him."
"ATX Kids Club definitely has a positive impact on my kid's confidence, curiosity, independence and healthy living. I am very pleased by the mix of phyisical activity, cultural, indoor/outdoor and social activity included in the programming. I am also pleased about the no-screen policy. Camp leaders are patient and enthusiastic - great role models for the kids."
"ATX Kids Club has fostered a sense of adventure and urban appreciation in my child. She now sees the whole city as her playground!"
"My son absolutely thrives at ATX Kids! He loves feeling so confident moving about the city and loves to come home and tell us all the cool things, places he went that day, thank you so much! "
"He learned about the Turks Caps, tree frogs, stayed active and was able to explore Austin staples. This camp is excellent at instilling a sense of adventure in our kiddos and we can't wait until next summer!"
"Our daughter said it was the best camp ever and she’s been to lots of camps. She was also dog tired when she got home. She also got to explore parts of Austin we haven’t been yet "
"Independence and confidence were the big outcomes for my kids. They've been all over the city, recognize landmarks and ask to go more places. They can navigate much better and are responsible for their belongings. Group leaders are excellent this year-- just the right amount of laid back to hang out with kids all day while keeping them safe."
"I work for a transit agency and when I drove my son to see a matinee of Frozen at the Bass Concert Hall on a Sunday, I felt very called out when he said "Mom, we could have taken the #10 here." He made me very proud. I love what this program has done for my son's sense of confidence, knowledge of public transportation routes, and orientation around the city. Thank you."
"Kids in 4-7 and 8-10 groups this week. They are learning their way around the city and point out places they've been or buses they've taken when we are out as a family. They brag they've seen more of Austin than mom and dad. They are much more responsible for their belongings after a week of making sure they make it onto and off the bus!"
"Hank had the best time! He was talking about all the new places he went and when he noticed things being close to his house or school so it really got him familiar with Austin. I would definitely say he gained confidence and independence. "
"Both my kids had a blast. They loved getting to take the bus and explore different places in the city. They learned a lot about the sites the visited and were excited to share with us at the end of each day!"
