Meet Our Team

Tammy Miller, Founder/Executive Director
Tammy arrived in Austin in 2008 after escaping the cold winters of the northeast. Originally from Pennsylvania, followed by a few years in Maryland, Tammy decided to move to her favorite city of Austin, Texas. As an Elementary Education graduate from Cabrini College and experience teaching in elementary schools in both Pennsylvania and Maryland, she accepted a position teaching first grade at a Title 1 Charter School in Southeast Austin. The transition to the Texas school system presented some challenges over the 5 years that helped her recognize her true passion. Upon reflecting on what impacted her most through her own educational journey as a student, it was the memory of her school field trips that she could remember best and still discuss in great detail. Taking these memories and the impact they had on her, she created the non-profit organization ATX Kids Club with a priority on the quality of the education and small ratios. Having intentionally moved to her favorite city, she wanted to provide a way for every child to explore Austin and experience the same level of love and passion for the amazing city we all enjoy. The partnership with Capital Metro provides the means to explore and helps ensure that children learn how to access their city independently.
ATX Kids Club has provided opportunities for all youth to create their own memories, become inspired, and learn through these educational field trip adventures. She couldn't be more proud of the difference ATX Kids Club is making on the lives of many campers in and around the Austin area.

Kayla Gomez, Office Manager
Kayla is originally from San Antonio, TX. She received her bachelor's degree in Marketing with an emphasis in Management from a small private school just outside of Oklahoma City. Although her schoolwork was business forward, one of her passions is working with youth to find and learn their value in the world. Several of her internships were mainly focused on youth groups by bonding, educating and even mentoring them. Growing up, Kayla was involved with many youth organizations such as camps, service projects, and mission trips that has made her the person she is today. With mentors along the way, she understands how crucial it is for children to have someone to look up to, which led her passion to work with children throughout her college career. These experiences have given Kayla a love for the future generations and given them experiences and opportunities that will allow them to prosper as they grow.
In her free time, Kayla enjoys playing her violin, hanging out with her kitten, Garbanzo, staying active and meeting new people. Kayla is thrilled to be a part of this team and see how this organization changes lives every day.
