Tammy Miller
Founder/Executive Director
Tammy Miller moved to Austin in 2008, trading cold Northeast winters for the vibrant energy of Central Texas. With a degree in Elementary Education from Cabrini College and a professional background that spans teaching, IT administration, entrepreneurship, and nonprofit leadership, Tammy has built a career rooted in adaptability, creativity, and a deep commitment to community. At her core, Tammy is a builder and connector—someone who sees possibilities where others see gaps. Whether in the classroom, in business, or through community initiatives, she has consistently created spaces where people feel empowered, supported, and inspired to grow. Her leadership style is hands-on and relationship-driven, grounded in trust, curiosity, and a willingness to bring people together in meaningful ways. This is reflected not only in her nonprofit work, but also in her role as a community curator. Tammy hosted a house concert series from 2010–2016 and again from 2022–2026, bringing musicians from across the country into intimate, welcoming spaces. Through these events, she fostered connection, supported artists, and created memorable shared experiences that strengthened community ties.
As the Founder and Executive Director of ATX KIDS CLUB, Tammy has spent more than a decade bringing her vision to life. She has grown the organization into a thriving program serving hundreds of youth each year, while also championing public transportation as a tool for independence, equity, and real-world learning. Through her leadership and partnership with CapMetro, thousands of children have gained the confidence to navigate their city and see themselves as capable, connected members of their community.
Beyond her professional work, Tammy enjoys cooking, gardening, landscaping, and traveling by RV—always finding inspiration in new places and experiences.
Tammy’s life and work are guided by a simple belief: when people—especially children—are given opportunities to explore, connect, and grow, they gain the confidence to shape their own futures and contribute meaningfully to the world around them.
